BEVERLY HILLS: An expanded multi-year licensing deal sees a wide variety of PBS programming becoming available to Netflix members in the U.S. and Canada, including the SVOD exclusives The Bletchley Circle and Super Why!

In 2014, the PBS Kids preschool hit Super Why! makes Netflix its exclusive SVOD home. Also available will be kids’ series such as Wild Kratts, Caillou and Arthur.

Starting in the fall, Netflix members will get exclusive SVOD access to all seasons of the murder mystery drama The Bletchley Circle. The agreement also includes documentaries from Ken Burns, among them Prohibition and Central Park Five, as well as past seasons of nonfiction series such as Nova and Secrets of the Dead.

Last week, PBS signed a streaming pact to deliver a raft of programming to Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service.

"PBS programming is both entertaining and enriching, a combination that Netflix members really appreciate," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s chief content officer.

"While PBS stations will always be the first place to see our programming, this agreement with Netflix exposes our shows to new audiences and further expands PBS’s presence across all media platforms," added Jason Seiken, the general manager for PBS Digital.
