What are some of your top properties for MIPCOM?

We are announcing season II of League of Super Evil with 13 episodes going into production for fall 2010. We continue to support the rollout of Storm Hawks with additional sales about to be announced. Storm Hawks currently has 52 completed episodes. In addition, we are presenting some of our projects in development, including comedies Endangered Species, 52×11 minute episodes, and A for Awesome, 52×11 minute episodes.

Why will these programs appeal to buyers?

These shows tap into broadcasters’ need for comedy and action programming that is character driven. Nerd Corps properties are proven performers and have delivered high-quality animation, writing, comedy and action.

What are some of the trends you’re currently seeing in this market?

There is continued interest in appealing to an older audience for both boys and girls. We are also seeing the continued growth in interest in live action, and we’ve responded by expanding our development slate to include it. There is a definite move towards more interactivity and tapping into social media, which means producers and distributors need to sharpen their digital pencils and we are doing just that by continuing to build our in-house interactive team. We plan to leverage the expertise we developed building the online communities and games for both League of Super Evil and Storm Hawks, and create similar online initiatives around our development properties, streamlining the process to encompass both media from the beginning.

What are your goals and expectations MIPCOM?

To sell our finished shows and to bring on presales for our shows in development. In addition, we are now starting to take on third-party properties for distribution and we will be looking to acquire distribution rights in finished or close to finished productions. We are also looking at possible co-productions for new projects that we feel fit our sensibilities.

Is there any other information you would like to share regarding your plans for MIPCOM?

As mentioned, we are now taking on third party properties for distribution, expanding our online production teams, and starting to look to develop live action projects. These are key initiatives for Nerd Corps in the next 12 months.
