NBC to Premiere Live Four-Part Series

BURBANK, September 24: In
December, NBC will debut Clash of the Choirs, a live four-night holiday event series produced
by BBC Worldwide Productions.

The series will have its
two-hour premiere on Monday, December 17 from 9 p.m. and will continue on
December 18 from 9 to 10 p.m., December 19 from 9 to 11 p.m., and December 20
from 8 to 9 p.m.

Based on a series format
acquired from Scandinavian-based Friday TV, Clash of the Choirs follows five celebrity singers back to their
hometowns to assemble an amateur singing group made up of everyday people from
all walks of life. Once the best of the best have been selected and the choirs
have been assembled, they will compete live in studio. The music genres will range
from current hits to holiday classics and the choir hopefuls will be judged
each night by viewers watching at home. Viewers will have the opportunity to
vote via phone, text message or at www.nbc.com. The winning choir, along with
the celebrity that selected them, will receive the opportunity to pick a prize
to help their hometown and give back to their community—anything from
renovating a school gym to an auditorium to a new neighborhood park.

"This is a wonderful
feel-good event series that will get everyone in the holiday spirit and singing
along with their TV sets," said Craig Plestis, the executive VP of
alternative programming, development and specials at NBC Entertainment.
"The live format and wide range of music, celebrity and community involvement
will undoubtedly create chart-topping drama and enthusiasm."

"We're thrilled to be
back in business with NBC," said Paul Telegdy, the executive VP of content
and production at BBC Worldwide Americas. "It's a really strong
relationship and one we hope will continue to bear fruit. We think Clash of
the Choirs
is a fantastic idea and
perfect for the holiday season."
