NBC to Pilot U.S. Version of BBC Comedy

NEW YORK, October 23: The Farrelly brothers have signed on
to direct a pilot from BBC Worldwide and Reveille based on the BBC Three comedy
series I'm With Stupid for NBC.

I'm With Stupid
follows the unlikely friendship between a homeless man and a wheelchair-user,
after they meet one evening in a local police station.

The NBC deal follows BBC Worldwide’s agreement with Sony
Pictures Television to co-produce a pilot for CBS of the award-winning BBC/BBC
America co-production, Viva Blackpool,
guest starring Hugh Jackman.

Paul Telegdy, the SVP of programming and co-productions at
BBC Worldwide, commented, "Building our scripted production business is an
absolute priority for us and these two deals demonstrate that we are seriously
breaking into this market. The BBC is recognized for commissioning some of the
most invigorating and intelligent drama and comedy series. We're very excited
to be working with some of the best talent in Hollywood who will re-craft BBC
titles to appeal to an American audience whilst retaining the true vision of
the original creators."
