TEL AVIV: NBC is to launch Who’s Still Standing?, the U.S. version of the Armoza Formats game show Still Standing, with a week-long strip of new episodes from December 19 to December 22, taking a regular broadcast slot from December 26 to January 30.

In early 2011, NBC picked up the format, which is internationally known as Still Standing and is based on the hit Israeli show developed by Lisa Shiloach-Uzrad and Amit Stratener of July-August Productions. Universal Television produced nine episodes of the U.S. version in association with Armoza Formats and July-August production. Minute to Win It’s Craig Plestis and Tim Puntillo serve as executive producers. The game show features contestants competing in trivia battles to win up to $1 million, while the losers drop through the studio floor. Still Standing currently airs in Spain on Antena3 and in Hungary on M1, and is in development in ten other territories, including France and Germany.

“[It] is family-friendly and thus perfect programming for the holiday season,” said Paul Telegdy, the president of alternative and late night programming at NBC. “The compelling and fresh format features the best elements of a classic trivia match combined with physical comedy, providing an intense competition that can be enjoyed by all ages.”

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, commented, "We’re very proud of this production, which is colorful, fun, and perfect ‘event TV’ for the whole family during the holiday season. We look forward to NBC’s Who’s Still Standing? joining the success of the Israeli, Spanish and Hungarian productions."
