NBC Renews 30 Rock for 2007-08 Season

BURBANK, April 5: NBC has renewed its acclaimed freshman
comedy 30 Rock for the 2007-08 season,
despite its season average of a 2.7 rating and 5.8 million viewers.

The series will settle into its new time period of 9 p.m. on
Thursday, April 12 for the remaining episodes of its current season. In the 18
to 49 demographic, it is averaging a 7-percent audience share. With its most
recent regular-slot telecast on March 8, 30 Rock delivered a best-yet 89-percent retention of its 18-49 lead-in from Scrubs. The series also achieves a rating that is 28 percent
higher among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100,000-plus incomes than it
rates among all adults 18-49.

"From the beginning, 30 Rock has proven to be the kind of quality comedy that
doesn't come around very often, and we are very pleased to have this show back
for a second season," said Kevin Reilly, the president of NBC
Entertainment. "We expect it to continue to build its increasingly loyal
audience and become another of NBC's classic comedy series."

Since it premiered last October, 30 Rock has garnered Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild
Awards for Alec Baldwin in his role as Jack Donaghy, a brash network executive.
In addition, the series has landed on the Top 10 lists of favorite series for
2006-07 in magazines such as TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly.
Produced by Broadway Video and NBC Universal Television Studio, the series is
told through the comedic voice of the Emmy Award-winning Tina Fey (NBC's Saturday
Night Live
, Mean Girls) who plays Liz Lemon, a head writer on a demanding,
live TV program in New York City. Her life is jolted when Jack Donaghy, played
by Baldwin, bullies her into convincing a wild and unpredictable movie star,
Tracy Jordan, played by Tracy Morgan (Saturday Night Live, The
Longest Yard
) to join the cast. The
executive producers are Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live), Fey, JoAnn Alfano (Sons & Daughters), Marci Klein (Saturday Night Live), David Miner (The Tracy Morgan Show) and Robert Carlock (The Dana Carvey Show).
