National Geographic to Debut HD Channel in Russia

MOSCOW, September 16:
National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) is launching National
Geographic Channel HD (NGC HD) in Russia on the AKADO-Stolitsa network on
October 1.

NGC HD, which is currently
available on digital Platforma HD, showcases the channel’s top-rated programs
through higher image resolution and 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound.

The channel is currently
broadcasting in the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, France, Italy, Canada, Singapore,
Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Bulgaria, Albania, Czech Republic,
Slovakia, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland.
