MTVNI Preps Boy Band Series

LONDON, July 13: Former members of successful boy bands will
be brought together in a new series from MTV Networks International that will
be made available to all MTV channels globally and will air in a terrestrial
slot in the U.K. via Channel 4’s T4 youth block.

The eight-episode Totally Boyband, a venture with production outfit Murfia, will
premiere late this summer. It will chronicle the formation of a new group by
these former stars. The multiplatform strategy for the new series includes
clips on MTV Overdrive and MTV
Snax
mobile TV in the U.K., as well as
other MTV-branded digital media platforms around the world. The full talent
line-up and participating music company offering the group a new recording deal
will be announced at a later date. MTVNI will also syndicate the series around
the world.

"Totally Boyband
will offer the ultimate look at the world of pop music and the boy band
phenomenon with MTV's distinctive docu-style," said Chris Sice, the VP of
development at MTVNI. "MTV viewers will get to experience all of the
drama, tension and humor of this unique, new series across every platform—with
exclusive content produced for TV, PC and mobile screens.”
