MTVNI Announces New HIV/AIDS Initiatives

NEW YORK, November 30: MTV Networks has unveiled new HIV/AIDS
awareness initiatives in advance of this weekend’s World AIDS Day, including a
co-production by MTV Brasil, MTV Latin America and MTV Networks’ Caribbean
channel Tempo.

A collaboration with MTV Networks International’s HIV and
AIDS prevention campaign, Staying Alive, and UNICEF, Sexpress Yourself is MTV’s first tri-channel production. The special
will be available to all broadcasters and content distributors worldwide for
TV, online and mobile, cost and rights free. Available in English, Spanish and
Portuguese, Sexpress Yourself
will air on MTV Brasil, MTV Latin America, MTV Spain, MTV Portugal and Tempo,
starting on December 1. The documentary gives young people across the Latin
American and Caribbean region the chance to talk openly and honestly about sex.

"In order to combat the rising global AIDS epidemic, we
have to inform and engage our audiences with essential prevention
messages," said Georgia Arnold, the VP of public affairs at MTV Networks
International. "In the case of Sexpress Yourself, we are able to reach key populations across Latin
America and the Caribbean to give them the platform to talk about sex and AIDS,
topics otherwise considered taboo in their communities."

Also on World AIDS Day, MTV will premiere Staying
Alive—48fest
, hosted by Nelly
Furtado, which follows 48 young people participating in MTV's 48fest, Staying
Alive's 48-hour HIV and AIDS themed film competition earlier this year. Also
airing is Staying Alive Revisited,
a half-hour show that takes a look back at the experiences of previously
profiled individuals from the eight-year history of the Staying Alive
documentary series. Hosted by
musician/producer Moby, it will premiere across MTV's worldwide network of TV
and broadband Overdrive services on December 1, and will be available to all
broadcasters and content distributors worldwide for TV, online and mobile, cost
and rights free.
