MTV Networks Latin America Acquires New Programming

MIAMI, May 21: MTV Networks Latin America (MTVNLA) has acquired a range of new programming that will
air on MTV Latin America and Vh1 Latin America later this year, including the animated adult series Sons of Butcher from Picture Box in Canada.

Sons of Butcher chronicles
the shenanigans of three men
who are butcher shop owners by day, but are rock stars by night. The series is
not only an animation, but also a real-life touring rock band that has gained
popularity in Canada and has already launched two albums.

“We are excited to bring Sons of Butcher to our fans in Latin America,” commented Jacqueline
Cantore, the VP of programming for MTV Latin America. “This show is laugh out loud funny! It’s
different, unique and very innovative, mixing flash with the rotoscope
technique animation (used in the movie Scanner Darkly) with video of real actors. We are
certain that our viewers will not only love the animation, but the original
music that goes along with it.”

The channel has
also closed a deal with Target for 50 additional episodes of NEXT, making it the longest-running series on MTV after
the Real World, as well as one of
the highest-rated shows. The network has also picked up 40 new episodes of Exposed
from Endemol.
