MTV EMAs Sell into Georgia, Denmark & Albania

LONDON: MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has struck new broadcast deals for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), along with inking further sales for the 2009 BET Awards.

The EMAs, which will broadcast live from Berlin, scored a first-ever deal with Georgian channel Rustavi 2, which will air the 2009 and 2010 awards shows. Top Channel in Albania is also set to air this year’s EMAs, along with the U.S.-based MTV Movie Awards (MMAs) and Video Music Awards (VMAs). TV2, which has licensed every installment of the EMAs since 1994, has picked up this year’s edition. The Danish pubcaster also licensed next year’s 2010 show, as well as the 2009 and 2010 MMAs.

MTVNI further landed deals on the 2009 BET Awards, which already aired on Channel 4 in the U.K. Switzerland’s RSI and RTV of Slovenia have signed on for the show.
