MSN to Launch U.K. Streaming Service

LONDON: Microsoft is set to launch the MSN Video Player in the U.K. next week, delivering more than 300 hours of content online.

The service will stream full-length episodes for free, supported by advertising. Initial content suppliers are BBC Worldwide and ALL3MEDIA. MSN Video Player will utilize both the Windows Media Video and Flash formats, and will be geo-blocked so that only individuals with a U.K. web address can access the content.

The initial slate will include Hustle, Peep Show, The League of Gentlemen, Shameless, Hotel Babylon and That Mitchell and Webb Look, among others.
