STOCKHOLM: Viasat Broadcasting has added nine catch-up channels, including TCM, CNN and Nickelodeon, to its Viaplay service across the Nordic region.

The channels offer select programs that have previously aired. Subscribers with an Internet-connected set-top box can access the catch-up content directly on their televisions. Viasat subscribers can also access Viaplay through Internet-connected devices such as computers, smartphones and tablets.

The catch-up channels that have been added include the classic movies channel TCM, the youth-skewed MTV and the news- and business-focused CNN and CNBC. Also joining the lineup are the Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Cartoon Network and Boomerang kids’ channels. Viasat’s own Viasat Crime Play, which offers American and British crime series, mini-series and dramas, has been added as well.

Niclas Ekdahl, the CEO of Viaplay, commented: “We know that our viewers want ‘Entertainment at your command!’ and now they get a wider choice of programs, series and movies in Viaplay than ever before. The channels offer a wide range of content that is ready to watch when the viewers want to watch it.”
