Metan Adds to Production Team

BEIJING: Michael Zombro has joined Metan Development Group as producer of original series for China, based in the company’s Beijing headquarters.

Zombro will lead production on Metan’s Chinese language-focused programming, as well as Metan’s planned pop-culture-related magazine shows. An industry veteran, he previously served as VP of production at Small World Television, where he oversaw production for eight series that aired simultaneously, including Access Hollywood China, the Chinese version of the NBC-owned format, as well as the My World series. Zombro has extensive experience in both the U.S. and China, having worked on feature films Never Down, Mulletville, Flute Rock and Trading Women; TV shows The Tudors, The L Word and Fortune China; and content produced for the web and mobile, including Arts Pass Live! and Broadway Beat.

"Michael brings to Metan his unique background and vast experience in both Western and Eastern production practices," said Metan co-founder Jean Zhang. "His keen understanding of both cultures and what appeals to each audience make him a valuable asset to our Beijing-based production team."

Launched in February 2009, Metan Development Group was created to develop and distribute entertainment content and media specifically for international markets. The company’s founders are Martin Pompadur, E! Entertainment Television co-founder Larry Namer and Zhang, founder of Amerilink.
