Melissa Roper Barnett Upped at HBO

NEW YORK: Melissa Roper Barnett has been promoted to the role of senior VP of networks business affairs at HBO.

Barnett will be responsible for the negotiation of domestic distribution deals for all of HBO’s networks. She will report to Tom Woodbury, general counsel and executive VP of networks business affairs. Barnett joined HBO in 1997 as associate counsel in legal, moving through the ranks. In 2004, she began a four-year stint working part time as a consultant for HBO. She joined the company full time in February 2009 as VP and senior counsel.

“Melissa has been deeply involved in negotiations with HBO’s distributors during her tenure here and brings a wealth of experience to her new role,” said Woodbury.
