MarVista’s Growth Leads to New Positions and Promotions

LOS ANGELES, September 24:
MarVista Entertainment’s recent growth has led to the addition of newly created
key executive roles and promotions, with D. Douglas Hill appointed as
controller and Sara Rutenberg named senior VP of business affairs, along with
several other key promotions.

In his new role, Hill will
work closely with the company’s principals to streamline accounting and
financial information and reporting and prepare monthly and annual budget and
cash flow projections and financial statements. Hill previously served a
ten-year tenure as controller of finance at Porchlight Entertainment, and prior
to that, held positions at Paramount Pictures and Zodiac Pictures.

Sara Rutenberg has been
tapped as the company’s senior VP of business affairs. She was previously the
executive VP of business affairs at National Lampoon. Rutenberg will be
involved in all aspects of the company’s activities, including negotiation of
production and distribution agreements across all media, acquisition agreements
and original productions. Prior to her six-year stint at Nation Lampoon,
Rutenberg held positions at FremantleMedia and Universal Television.

Reporting to Rutenberg,
Shannon Humphries has been upped from the manager of accounting to the newly
created position of director of business administration. She will be
responsible for maintaining contracts and managing licensee accounts. Her
previous credits include Ocean Park Pictures and Go Moco Inc.

MarVista has also
appointed Charlie Hwang as the director of technical services, responsible for
supervising all technical issues related to the company’s programming and
third-party acquisitions, and ensuring easy distribution of materials to the
company’s clients. Hwang formerly worked in a variety of post-production
servicing and distribution positions at Sony Pictures, NBC Universal and most
recently at Lionsgate Entertainment. Additionally, Michael Wilson has been
named the manager of acquisitions, charged with the acquisition of
independently-produced films and television programs for MarVista’s U.S. home
entertainment label and for worldwide distribution.
