Mango Taps George Sakkalli for Asian Sales Role

SINGAPORE: George Sakkalli, formerly with Power, has been named sales manager for Asia at Mango Distribution.

Sakkalli will be based in Singapore, reporting to company directors Wayne Dearing and Donna Andrews. He will be responsible for finding new properties for the distributor to develop across all platforms, in addition to seeking out broadcast partners for new and existing properties int he pan-Asian region. Sakkalli was previously Power’s VP of Asian sales and distribution, and has also worked at ITV and Granada International.

 

 

Dearing said of the appointment, “Mango Distribution is thrilled to have George on board. He brings detailed knowledge of the Asian region including broadcasters, communication platform providers and producers, operating on traditional and new media platforms”.

 

Sakkalli added, ”It’s rare that one has the opportunity to work with such accomplished and skilled producers as Wayne Dearing and Donna Andrews and their production teams in Sydney and Manila. I’m very much looking forward to driving new sales for Mango’s existing high quality kids series and also to developing new long term distribution and development partnerships in the kids content arena.”

Mango also has struck a deal for its new property Invisible Network of Kids to air on ABC3 in Australia. Further series in the Mango catalogue include WordWorld and Pearlie.
