Management Restructure at Shine Group’s Dragonfly

LONDON: Dragonfly Film and Television Productions, part of Shine Group, has restructured its management, with co-founders Nick Curwin and Magnus Temple to step down as co-chairmen at the end of the year.

Sanjay Singhal, who was promoted to managing director of Dragonfly in August, will expand his executive role at the helm of the business. He will be supported by Steve Nam, formerly head of rights at Five, who recently joined the company in the newly created role of COO. Curwin and Temple will maintain a creative role with Dragonfly going forward. They will continue to oversee productions such as Life Begins and Plane Crash for Channel 4 and will also act as consultant executive producers for Dragonfly next year.

Curwin and Temple said: “Shine continues to be a wonderful home for Dragonfly and a great supporter of everything it does.  Dragonfly will always be in our blood. We’re proud of the programmes we’ve made, the strides taken by Sanjay and his senior team in driving the company forward and the exciting ideas we have in development. This change in our roles is a natural evolution for the company whilst also allowing us to catch our breath after five extraordinary years."

Elisabeth Murdoch, group chairman and CEO of Shine Group, commented: “Shine owes a huge debt of gratitude to Nick and Magnus for creating Dragonfly whose creativity continues to inspire and influence everyone within the group. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with them and creating more groundbreaking programs together.”
