Lightworks Completes Deal for Gabriel: Amor Inmortal

NEW YORK, September 25:
Lightworks Program Distribution and Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) have
signed an exclusive distribution agreement for Gabriel: Amor Inmortal.

This series consists of 12
one-hour episodes and an additional hour-long behind-the-scenes special, which
will be available for broadcast sale at MIPCOM. Gabriel: Amor Inmortal, the first high-definition miniseries ever
produced for Spanish-language audiences, is a love story of reincarnation,
revenge and redemption. Gabriel, played by recording artist Chayanne, is a
modern-day vampire whose only hope of salvation lies in reuniting with his
reincarnated soul mate, Eva, who was murdered more than 300 years ago by the
bloodthirsty conquistador Pizarro, portrayed by renowned acting and recording
star José Luis Rodríguez.

The
series is already scheduled to air on Mega TV, a unit of SBS, in the U.S. on
Sunday, September 28.

“We are extremely pleased
to be announcing this important association with SBS and we are confident that
this series will be a strong performer for the channel,” said John Cuddihy, the
president and managing director of Lightworks.

“We are very excited to
work with Lightworks Program Distribution, one of the top worldwide
distributors in the industry,” said Cynthia Hudson, the executive VP and chief
creative officer for SBS. “We anticipate that this quality program with
superstar actors like Chayanne will prove to be an audience favorite.”
