Lifetime Orders More Drop Dead Diva

LOS ANGELES: The comedic drama Drop Dead Diva has been picked up for an additional 13 episodes by Lifetime Television for 2010. 

The series, which tells the story of an aspiring model who dies and comes back to life as a plus-sized attorney, premiered on July 12, and was Lifetime’s highest-rated original drama series debut since the 2007 launch of Army Wives. The show is averaging 2.6 million viewers per episode this season, and has notched up 50.1 million viewers over the age of 2 to date in its 9 p.m. Sunday slot. Drop Dead Diva is from creator Josh Berman (Bones, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) and executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Chicago, Hairspray, Lifetime’s Living Proof). It stars Brooke Elliott and comedienne Margaret Cho.
