Licensee Extensions for Charlie and Lola

LONDON: BBC Worldwide has renewed the clothing licence for Marks and Spencer, plus a toiletries license from H&A, for the property Charlie and Lola for an additional two years.

Slated to launch this spring, the collection of Charlie and Lola-inspired apparel includes rain macs, tee and shrug sets, tee and jacket sets, shorts and tights sets, shortie pyjama and washbags, balloon long leg pyjamas, nightdresses and packs of tees, socks, briefs and vests. H&A will be developing new products as well as, including the magic face cloth, which sold out in Boots by mid-November 2008.

The Charlie and Lola collection from master toy licensee Golden Bear will be extended to include new plush items, such as Bouncing Lola, named as Best New Toy at Toy Fair in the Plush category. Golden Bear will also be presenting a comprehensive range of other plush, games and wooden toys.

Cassie Allen, the licensing manager for BBC Worldwide, said, "We’re delighted with the first range of Charlie and Lola clothing from Marks and Spencer, which sold well in 2008. Similarly, H&A’s toiletries range has been extremely popular with consumers. Working with Marks and Spencer and H&A to maintain the popularity of this exciting brand helps to gain momentum across categories. We’re confident these renewals will attract further sales growth in 2009 and beyond."
