Liberty Global Records Q2 Loss

ENGLEWOOD, August 9: Despite a 37-percent increase in
revenues to $2.18 billion, Liberty Global has recorded a second-quarter net
loss of $129.7 million, versus its $24.2 million profit a year ago.

For the first half of the year, meanwhile, revenues rose 39
percent to $4.29 billion but the company recorded a loss of $265.8 million, as
compared with the profit of $292.4 million in the first half of 2006.

Revenue growth was positively impacted by acquisitions,
including those of Telenet in Belgium, Cable West in Japan and Karneval in the
Czech Republic.

As at June 30, 2007, the company had 23.1 million revenue
generating units (RGUs). Of those, 14.7 million were video customers, 4.9
million broadband Internet customers and 3.5 million telephony subscribers.

The video subscribers consisted of 10.9 million analog
cable, 2.8 million digital cable and 1 million DTH subscribers. In the quarter
the company added approximately 266,000 RGUs, consisting of 159,000 broadband
Internet additions, 161,000 telephony additions and a loss of 54,000 video subscribers,
largely due to video competition in Romania and Hungary. Liberty Global ended
Q2 with aggregate broadband Internet and telephony penetrations of 20 percent
and 15 percent, respectively.
