Korean Organization Issues Call for Animation Projects

SEOUL: The Seoul Animation Center is seeking entries from the worldwide market for this year’s SPP Project Competition at the 13th Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival (SICAF).

Hosted by the SPP (SICAF Promotion Plan), the annual SPP Project Competition, now in its eighth year, aims to identify and nurture commercially viable new animation projects. Animated projects from around the world are being solicited to apply by May 15, with forms available at www.sicaf.org or www.ani.seoul.kr. Last year, 132 projects from 10 nations applied and 16 were selected as finalists. The finalists this year will be given the opportunity to pitch their projects in front of buyers, investors, and judge committee members from all over the world at the SPP event on July 22 and 23 at SICAF. Winners will be named in three categories: Best Creative, Best Planning and Best Technology and each will receive a trophy and $5,000.
