MUNICH: Beta Film’s children’s label Wunderbox has struck a deal for the whodunit Little Robbers to air on Germany’s KI.KA, which will launch the film in March 2011.

A co-production from Studio F.O.R.M.A. and Mini Film, Little Robbers tells the story of 5-year-old Robby and his older sister Louise who take revenge on a grim bank director who refuses to extend the family’s credit to pay the mortgage. Alpha Medienkontor launched the film in German cinemas last week. Foreign Media Group is the DVD distributor.

“KI.KA is delighted to have one of the successful children’s and family films of the year 2010—Little Robbers—in its portfolio,” said Sebastian Debertin, the head of fiction and program acquisitions at KI.KA. “With wit and humor, the film shows us that even the youngest can exert an influence on the destiny of more than just their own family. A winning example of how films endeavor to make children strong! Incidentally, this wonderful film also rightfully won the award of the specialists’ jury for the Best Preschool Program at Germany’s children media festival Golden Sparrow 2010.”
