NEW YORK: Jupiter and Sky Vision have forged an in-house alliance with producer David McKillop for scripted and factual series.

Europa, McKillop’s production shingle, will be housed in Jupiter’s New York offices, but will still function as an independent production company. McKillop will guide new original content focused on high-quality documentary and hybrid scripted-style programs for cable networks and online distributors.

McKillop is credited with a string of hits on A&E, HISTORY and Discovery. Most recently, he acted as CCO and partner for Propagate. McKillop previously served as general manager and executive VP of A&E, where he developed Duck Dynasty and executive produced Storage Wars. Prior to A&E, McKillop was senior VP of development and programming for HISTORY, having launched series such as Pawn Stars.

”Having worked with David for many years, I can attest that he is one of the most gifted creatives in the entertainment industry and an ideal partner for Jupiter,” said Stephen Land, the CEO and executive producer of Jupiter Entertainment.

Jupiter’s president, Allison Wallach, added, “We are thrilled about our alliance with David and look forward to Jupiter Entertainment serving as a great collaborator and home for Europa.”

Jane Millichip, the managing director of Sky Vision, said: “David McKillop is one of the smartest people in the business, and Jupiter is one of the smartest companies. David takes brilliant ideas and turns them into inclusive, populist television. Alongside the commercial and strategic nous of Sky Vision, this promises to be a terrific partnership.”

McKillop added: “I’ve known Stephen since I came to New York to work at History, and we’ve collaborated on numerous projects. He’s one of the most respected producers in the industry, and I look forward to working with him and Jupiter Entertainment to expand its slate with more high-profile factual and event-based television projects.”
