Joely Richardson Joins Tudors Cast

LOS ANGELES: Nip/Tuck star Joely Richardson has been cast as Catherine Parr, Henry VIII’s sixth and last wife, for the fourth season of Showtime’s The Tudors.

Richardson joins the cast of the acclaimed drama for its final season, currently filming in Dublin for a 2010 premiere. Richardson will portray Parr in five episodes of the show. The actress, the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson, has appeared in films such as The Patriot, I’ll Do Anything and The Last Mimzy, but is perhaps best known in the U.S. for her role on FX’s Nip/Tuck

The new season will chronicle the final days of the king—portrayed by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers—including his war against France and his last two wives (Catherine Howard, played by Tamzin Merchant, and Catherine Parr.)
