Japanese Deals for KBS

SEOUL/TOKYO, December 21: The distribution arm of Korean
terrestrial KBS has inked deals in Japan on two if its titles, VJ Commando
Squad
and Full House, with NHK and NTV respectively.

KBS-Japan, responsible for sales to the Japanese market, has
licensed VJ Commando Squad to pubcaster
NHK for broadcast on NHK BS-1. The current affairs series will air once a week
on the channel, beginning January 4, reaching about 20 million homes. It first
launched in Korea in 2000 on KBS-2.

The hit drama series Full House will air on NTV every Monday beginning January 15.
The show has been one of KBS’s biggest successes, having been sold to 15
markets, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, the U.S. and Finland, among
others. It delivered a 42.3 percent rating for GMA in the Philippines and a 45
percent rating on BBTV in Thailand.
