CANNES: Janson Media is on the lookout for a co-production partner for a nonfiction “Mr. and Mrs.” spy movie, tentatively titled Meet Me in Cairo.

The project is based on a daredevil Israeli spy, Wolfgang Lotz, and his new wife and tells how they managed to eliminate a reborn Nazi threat in the Middle East by building V2 rockets with nerve gas warheads in the desert of Nasser’s Egypt in the 1960s.

Janson has a shooting script, a seven-hour recording of an exclusive debriefing of the spy about the details of his mission and a host of production research. The debriefing was with Harvey Chertok, executive producer of The Impossible Spy.

“Following a week-long visit and the recorded debriefing in his home, Mr. Lotz agreed to be a consultant for the movie production, and also gave me his permission to use his name and likeness,” Chertok stated.

“In addition to being an extraordinary spy adventure, it is also a surprising and fascinating love story,” said Stephen Janson, the president of Janson Media.
