ITV Prepares for Drop in Ad Revenues

LONDON,
September 22: ITV1’s advertising revenues could decrease by as much as £80
million in the fourth quarter of 2006.

According
to the Media Guardian, early
forecasts from media agencies predict ITV1’s ad revenue from October to
December will drop some 20 percent compared to the same period last year,
amounting to £457 million in the fourth quarter of 2005 to a predicted £375
million this year.

While
the total TV advertising market is predicted to be down by about 7 percent,
ITV’s digital channels are expected to show a 33-percent rise in advertising.
