ITV Entertainment Chief Exits

LONDON, September 17: Paul
Jackson, the director of entertainment and comedy at ITV, is leaving the
British broadcaster at the end of the year.

Jackson joined ITV in 2006
after serving as chief executive of Granada America. He previously spent a
number of years at Granada Australia and at the BBC. Jackson is leaving ITV in
order to return to making programs, according to reports.

Peter Fincham, the
director of television at ITV, said of Jackson: “He committed to the role for
three years and has commissioned and overseen some of the network’s biggest and
best programs while taking Dancing on Ice and The X Factor from
strength to strength.”

Jackson said: “We’ve had a
challenging and exciting ride since the new entertainment and comedy team came
together and it’s been a blast to work with some of the best professionals you
will find in U.K. television. I am leaving a great team with a very full slate
of hit shows and a few new ones to play out in the coming months.”
