ITV DVD, Coolroom Ink Digital Retail Agreement

LONDON, October 29: ITV
DVD has signed an agreement to make more than 300 features from its movie
library available for download to own and download to rent via the British
online retailer Coolroom.

Films from ITV DVD’s
library will be available to consumers from £0.99, both on Coolroom’s download
store on www.coolroom.com and on Coolroom’s IPTV channel across Microsoft Media
Center. Consumers with Windows XP or Vista PCs can view Coolroom through the Media
Center. A wide selection of titles will be on offer, including the Carry On films, The Shawshank Redemption and classic award-winning films like Henry V and Brief Encounter.

Steve Gallant, the
publishing director at ITV DVD, said: “We are very much looking forward to
working with Coolroom, and their partnership with Microsoft’s Media Center
makes this particularly exciting. This deal marks the further development of
our digital distribution plans, part of our ongoing strategy to maximize
distribution of our diverse range of content.”

ITV DVD, part
of Granada Ventures, the consumer-products division within ITV, has more than
3,000 titles. ITV DVD also owns the video rights for the Rank and ITC film
collections, which contain more than 1,500 classic British films.
