ITV Bags J.J. Abrams’ Six Degrees

LONDON, July
6: J.J. Abrams’ new ABC series Six Degrees, distributed by Buena Vista International Television, is
to become the first American show to air in a prime-time slot on ITV1 in nine
years.

The show,
which will also broadcast on ITV2, follows a group of New Yorkers whose lives unexpectedly become intertwined. It is set to air
on ABC on Thursdays at 10 p.m. this fall, immediately following another BVITV
title, Grey’s Anatomy.

Announcing the deal, ITV’s
director of acquisitions, Jay Kandola, noted, “My aim was to get brand defining
shows for the ITV Network. I am
delighted that Six Degrees will
be a contemporary exciting new addition to the ITV1 and ITV2 offering.”
