Italia 1 Takes ITV Global Game Show

LONDON: Italia 1 has commissioned its own version of ITV Global Entertainment’s The Colour of Money for a fall launch as a daily strip in an access prime slot.

The local version will be made in Rome and co-produced by Mediaset-owned RTI Productions in conjunction with Triangle Productions and ITV Studios. The half-hour game show stars members of the public competing to win money from 20 cash machines, each randomly pre-programmed to issue set amounts of money. It was created by ITV Studios production company, 12 Yard.

"This production commission is part of our ongoing formats strategy, where we are bringing ITV Studios most skilled and experienced creative people to our international partners," stated Remy Blumenfeld, the director of global formats at ITV Global Content. "Similar to our success in Spain with the stripped game-show Pasapalabra, I hope that this commission will position Colour of Money to grow into an international success.”

Fatma Ruffini, the managing director of formats, light entertainment programs and sitcoms at Mediaset, added: “Italia 1 is the home of the very best formats and we’re extremely pleased to be announcing The Colour of Money will be joining our hugely popular lineup. We’re confident our viewers will find the pace and competitiveness of the show extremely exciting.”
