SILVER SPRING: Investigation Discovery has added its first docu-series, Big Law: Deputy Butterbean, starring Eric “Butterbean” Esch, a 400-pound former heavyweight boxer who joins the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit in Jasper, Alabama, to its lineup.

The ten-part series will premiere Tuesday, August 9, at 10 p.m. It is produced by Atlas Media for Investigation Discovery. Butterbean chronicles the Reserve Deputy and his best friend, Deputy Adam Hadder, training, patrol riding and busting bad guys.

"As the fastest growing network in all of cable, it’s imperative that we continue to pursue different genres of programming, so I’m particularly proud to announce that Big Law: Deputy Butterbean will be Investigation Discovery’s first foray into docu-series," said Henry Schleiff, the president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. "Our cameras capture every moment of Butterbean in action and, although this deputy would be a little intimidating if he’s the one knocking on your door, I think our viewers will find that he’s just a big guy with an even bigger heart trying to make a difference in his community."
