Industry Veteran Russ Kagan Passes Away

Russell Kagan, a pioneer of the international TV distribution business, has passed away at the age of 65.

Kagan began his career in the international television distribution business with Alfred Haber Distribution. He later formed his own company, International Program Consultants (IPC).

Kagan was a board member of NATPE and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He was responsible for producing and marketing a number of major TV miniseries and international co-productions, including The Bible. He also produced and co-produced award-winning programs such as TNT’s Joseph (Emmy Award winner for best miniseries), Discovery Channel’s Great Wall of Iron (Peabody Award winner) and the Emmy-nominated CBS TV movie Nicholas’ Gift, CBS’s Jesus and TNT’s Caesar.
