LONDON: BBC Worldwide, Ragdoll and Minor Entertainment are launching a nationwide tour in the U.K. of In the Night Garden Live, the first theatrical venture for the brand, with the show slated for a two-week run starting July 17 in Liverpool.

In the Night Garden Live will move on to London in August and Glasgow in September, with a final location yet to be announced. The show is set within an inflatable touring theater, and the characters are brought to life in full-size costumes.

Neil Ross Russell, the managing director for children’s and licensing at BBC Worldwide, said: “Our ambition has always been to take In the Night Garden into a live environment; our challenge has been to develop an experience that reflects the quality and innovation of the TV programme. It’s a privilege to now announce a truly unique experience inside spectacular show domes with state-of-art costumes, props and projections—we believe we’ve developed something that will wow children and families up and down the country.”

He added: "This is an exciting moment for In the Night Garden, which has, to date, achieved that revered combination of critical and commercial success. In the Night Garden Live is a truly unique proposition for children and their families and one that we see as the perfect way to extend the experience of the TV show in a theatrical environment.”
