MADRID: Spain’s Imira Entertainment has secured the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic free-TV and VOD rights for titles from the French studio Xilam Animation.

Among the catalogue highlights are A Kind of Magic, which follows Willow the fairy and her husband Gregore, a reformed ogre; and Bali, where the titular character, a resolutely modern preschooler, lives a modern life in the big city. Other Xilam titles being showcased are Oggy & the Cockroaches, the hilarious adventures of a blue cat and his insect nemeses, and The Daltons, a comedy which centers on four prisoners and their outrageous attempts to escape. Overall, Imira will handle 16 Xilam properties totaling 500 half-hours.

Marc du Pontavice, the CEO at Xilam Animation, commented: “We are thrilled to have Imira distribute Xilam’s library in Latin America and Hispanic U.S.; we trust their depth of expertise in these markets will help our shows to grow there as they did in the rest of the world.”

Sergi Reitg, the CEO of Imira Entertainment, said: “Imira Entertainment continues to be the go-to Latin American and Hispanic U.S. distribution partner, and we are excited to welcome properties from the award-winning talent at Xilam Animation to offer this NATPE 2015.”
