IMG Sports Media Signs Deal with mio TV for Premier League Coverage

LONDON: A new agreement sees IMG Sports Media become the exclusive production partner for all SingTel mio TV’s Barclay’s Premier League coverage.

The channel launched the Barclay’s Premier League on mio TV this week, and has a number of plans for the broadcasts, including engaging local productions and enhanced interactivity. IMG will work with mio TV to produce four new local original programs in Singapore for the League. It will also give the channel access to the full programming output and match coverage it will produce for the content service. Shows will include wraps around up to six live matches a week, regular news shows, additional magazine programming, international phone-ins and matches from its archive. IMG Sports Media will also provide all other football coverage to the channel.

“mio TV is now home to the three biggest football competitions in the world—the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League,” said Edward Ying, the chief of content and media services at SingTel. “We have been working passionately to ensure Singapore football fans get to experience coverage of the competition that is second to none and are proud to share our plans today.”
