IMG Media to Distribute BBC One Doc on Tony Blair

LONDON, October 8: IMG
Media will distribute a new BBC One series featuring former British Prime
Minister Tony Blair talking candidly about his ten years in office.

The new 3×1-hour program
will air on BBC One in November, and the 2×1-hour international version is
featured on IMG Media’s MIPCOM slate.

The producers of the
series, Juniper TV, have gained unprecedented access to Blair, including during
the final days of his premiership and in his current role as Middle East Envoy.

The programs, which are
still being filmed, also feature interviews with U.S. President George W. Bush
in the White House, former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan, German Chancellor
Angela Merkel, President Bill Clinton, U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix and
Sinn Fein’s Martin McGuinness. Former Labor spin chief Alastair Campbell,
Michael Levy and Bertie Ahern also talk about their relationships with Blair.

Mark Young, IMG Media’s
senior VP of entertainment sales and acquisitions worldwide, said: “This will
be a compelling documentary series about one of the most iconic and talked
about British politicians in recent history and the impact he has had,
particularly on international events over the last ten years. I am delighted to
be representing Blair at this year’s MIPCOM especially as Juniper have managed
to secure unprecedented access to the former Prime Minister, his entourage and
an array of powerful political acquaintances.”
