IMG Grows Global Media Team

NEW YORK, February 7: IMG
Global Media has announced two key appointments as part of the company’s
continued expansion: Carmi Zlotnik will serve as the head of global media
operations and John Penney has been named the head of global media strategy.

As head of global media
operations, Zlotnick is responsible for the creative execution, operational
management and fiscal performance of all production companies and production
entities and services within IMG. This includes oversight of Tiger Aspect
Productions and Darlow Smithson Productions, as well as IMG’s sports
production, digital media, post-production facilities and archives. Zlotnick
comes from HBO, where she worked for 20 years, most recently as the executive
VP of new media programming and executive VP of creative operations and
business development.

In his new role, Penney
will oversee the planning and development of IMG Global Media’s growth
strategy, expansion efforts and new business platforms. Penney also joins IMG
from HBO, where he served as senior VP of advertising-supported broadband
channels, and was responsible for strategic planning, delivery and ongoing
operational management of new broadband channels for the network.

These new appointments
mark the continued growth of the division that was sparked by the appointment
of former HBO chief Chris Albrecht as the company’s president in September.
Earlier this week, the company named producer and consultant Rob Lee as its new
head of programming.

Zlotnick and Penney will
both report to Albrecht, and are based in the company’s Los Angeles office.

“Carmi and John will help
lead the way and set new standards for our company,” said Albrecht. “With a
full slate of offerings and exciting deals in a rapidly evolving space, we are
poised to take IMG Media to the next level.”
