Image, BET Strike Multi-Year Agreement

CANNES: A new multi-year output deal provides BET International with the broadcast rights to Image Entertainmnet’s entire catalogue of urban titles, as well as new projects, to air in the U.K. and Africa.

Through the output deal, BET International will take on some 30 new titles per year from Image. This covers a variety of genres, from films and documentaries to comedy and music specials. The catalogue features, among others, Jamie Foxx: Unleashed, Letter to the President, Notorious B.I.G.: Bigger Than Life, Love For Sale and Tupac Shakur: The Life of an Outlaw.

“BET is in the midst of an impressive and ambitious global expansion,” said Steve Saltman, the senior VP of worldwide television for Image Entertainment. “We are pleased they have selected Image as a supplier for content to help drive their growth around the world.”

“BET International is the leader in providing the best Black content to all consumers of Black culture around the world,” added Michael D. Armstrong, the senior VP and general manager of BET International. “Through our partnership with Image, we are expanding our programming to now include a comprehensive catalogue of quality urban content.”
