Hugh Hefner to Be Honored at PromaxDBA

LOS ANGELES: Playboy founder Hugh Hefner is to receive the PromaxDBA Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 conference, which takes place June 22 to 24 in Los Angeles.

In a session that will take place on June 24 at 1 p.m., Hefner will be interviewed by Larry King about his work in building the Playboy empire over the last 50 years. Hefner will also discuss how the art and design of Playboy have influenced American culture. “Hugh Hefner has inspired a generation of creativity, and there is no denying that Playboy has been one of the most iconic brands of the last century,” said Jonathan Block-Verk, the president and CEO of PromaxBDA. “We are proud to honor him with this year’s PromaxBDA Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Songwriter/producer David Foster and Discovery Communications COO Peter Liguori are set to keynote the event. Foster’s presentation, titled "An Evening with the Hitman," will look at the creativity and inspiration that has led to his career, including winning 15 Grammy Awards. Liguori will present his point of view on the importance of harnessing opportunity in an age of multimedia.
