TORONTO: The Hollywood Suite multiplatform movie service, formed by former CHUM president and CEO Jay Switzer, among other industry vets, is launching across Canada this November with a lineup of four HD channels, including Warner Films and The MGM Channel.

The platform is home to four new HD channels, with subscribers across Canada able to choose from more than 450 different movie titles every month on TV through on demand as well as online and via mobile. The Hollywood Suite includes Warner Films, with a lineup of Warner Bros. movie titles; The MGM Channel, featuring films from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer catalogue; Hollywood Storm, showcasing action films; and Hollywood Festival, which has critically acclaimed independent films and major studio offers about romance and relationships.

The Hollywood Suite channels will be available across Canada on cable, satellite and IPTV. Pricing and packaging will be announced closer to launch. The newly formed Toronto-based company Hollywood Suite was founded by industry veterans Jay Switzer, Jeff Sackman, Michael McLaughlin, Catherine Tait and David Kines.

“These channels are designed to meet the strong audience demand for movies across all platforms and support Canada’s television service providers,” said Switzer, Hollywood Suite’s chairman and co-founder. “With a number of leading financial backers including Alliance Films, and with studio support from Warner Bros., MGM and Alliance, as well as many Canadian producers, we know these channels will be exceptionally well received in Canada.”

“We love movies—and we are bringing to Canada what movie fans want and demand, at one low monthly price,” added Kines, the president and co-founder. “When you add up all the movies we offer and all the ways a subscriber can watch them, Hollywood Suite offers any movie fan a fantastic HD movie experience.”
