HIT, Discovery Kids Align for Latin American Agreements

NEW YORK/LONDON, December 6: Discovery Kids Latin America
has picked up new seasons of HIT Entertainment’s Barney, Bob the Builder and Thomas & Friends.

Discovery Kids will air never-before-seen episodes of Barney,
Bob the Builder and Thomas &
Friends in both Spanish- and
Portuguese-speaking countries. Additionally, the deal includes the Thomas
special, Calling All Engines.

Rodrigo Pizá, the VP of television for Latin America at HIT
Entertainment, said: “We are delighted to be working with Discovery Kids in
bringing our characters to life for children in Latin America. Barney, Bob the Builder and Thomas have demonstrated their worldwide success in engaging, informing and
delighting children around the world.”

Added Peach Gibson, the VP and channel director for
Discovery Kids and Animal Planet in Latin America: “Children in Latin America
have grown up watching these great shows on Discovery Kids and these
acquisitions allow us to continue to bring the best in educational
entertainment to our audience.”
