Greg Daniels to Take Part in Banff Master Class

TORONTO: Greg Daniels, the writer, producer and director behind the U.S. version of The Office and co-creator of King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation, has signed on for this year’s Showrunner Series at the Banff World Media Festival.

Daniels is set for a special master class, exploring the challenge of developing, launching and managing a hit series in today’s market. Daniels began his career on HBO’s Not Necessarily the News, moving on the write for Saturday Night Live. He has also worked on episodes of Seinfeld and The Simpsons. He created the animated comedy King of the Hill with Mike Judge. He currently serves as an executive producer on NBC’s The Office and Parks and Recreation.

"Greg Daniels has been responsible for some of the biggest hits and funniest moments of the last two decades of television," said Ferne Cohen, executive director of the festival. "He is an absolutely outstanding showrunner, and we are excited to have him participating in this year’s festival."
