Granada Acquires Asian Talk Show

HONG KONG, August 6: Granada International has acquired the
pan-Asian distribution rights for The May Lee Show, a weekly talk show produced for STAR World.

The 13×1-hour series is hosted by May Lee, a Korean American
who previously served as a correspondent and anchor for CNN and CNBC. She also
worked at Oxygen hosting a two-hour talk show, Pure Oxygen.

“Our show is produced in Asia, by Asians, especially for the
New Woman of Asia,” said Lee, who created the series. “We intend to confront
the long-standing stereotypical views of what might interest us and show Asian
viewers that we aren’t afraid to talk about issues that have traditionally been
left behind closed doors. The women of Asia also aren’t afraid to have fun, so
expect to be fully entertained.”

Co-executive produced by Glenn van Zutphen and produced by
Lotus Media House, The May Lee Show will
feature high-profile celebrity guests, blending conversation with “how to”
demonstrations and features. Themes will include relationships, body image,
family and sex. Granada International
has pan Asian rights to the series after it premieres on STAR World.

James Ross, the regional director at Granada International,
noted: “The May Lee Show does something
that hasn’t been seen before in Asia–it caters to Asian women who juggle
their careers and their family. We are sure that this series will appeal to
broadcasters throughout the region.”
