Grammys Archive Opens for On-Demand Viewing

NEW YORK: The Recording Academy and CBS have teamed up with the music video and entertainment service VEVO to launch The Grammys channel, making footage from 52 years of performances and Grammy-related programming available free of charge and on demand on the VEVO Network within the U.S.

The Grammys music video channel features footage from the Grammy Awards telecasts and nomination specials, including performances, presentations, interviews and other highlights from the event’s 52-year history. Fresh content is to be added continually. The channel marks the first time The Recording Academy has made these archival performances available to the public.

"We are thrilled that The Recording Academy and CBS have embraced the VEVO Network as their partner to offer notable Grammy performances on demand," said Rio Caraeff, the president and CEO of VEVO. "Inspired by the way the Grammys have brought extraordinary musical moments to fans on television, VEVO was created to offer the highest quality music video experience online. The Grammys are ‘Music’s Biggest Night’ and we are excited to bring these great performances out of the vaults and direct to our VEVO audience for the first time."

"The Grammys channel on the VEVO Network expands our efforts to offer fans a multiplatform program to our telecast campaign," added Evan Greene, the chief marketing officer at The Recording Academy. "We are pleased to partner with VEVO, the web’s most-trafficked music network in the U.S., to offer fans a robust online Grammy experience."
