GONG Surpasses 20-Million Distribution Mark

LONDON/PARIS, July 23: Nearly six months since its launch,
the on-demand Japanese animation channel GONG is now available to 20 million
individuals via the Internet or mobile in 36 countries across Europe and North
America.

On the
peer-to-peer-based Internet TV platform Joost, GONG is the fourth most-watched
channel out of 100 channels in Europe, and the 11th most-watched
channel out of 150 channels in the U.S. Its audience represents over a million
minutes viewed in the last two months. Since the mid-June launch of GONG’s
customized channel on Google’s video sharing site YouTube, visitors have
watched more than 140,000 videos of its programs. GONG has also recently
announced a partnership with the new global Internet TV network Babelgum.

GONG’s main
distribution includes Club Internet and TF1 Vision in France via their
broadband VOD service and in the U.K. via download-to-own on BT Vision Download
Store. The GONG mobile channel is accessible 24/7 on Orange TV in the U.K.,
Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

GONG aims
to offer anime programming on existing new-media platforms like the Internet,
mobile, and broadband via VOD, SVOD, download, streaming, download-to-own and
as a linear channel.

Benoit Runel, the CEO of GONG, commented: “GONG is going to transform the growing anime market from an established niche business
into a mass-market proposition fuelled by the explosion of new media platforms.”

Added André de Semlyen, the COO of GONG: “Signing distribution deals
with major platforms is crucial for GONG as it allows us to give exposure and
increase the interest in Anime amongst a whole generation.”
