Globo Continues to Find Success with India: A Love Story

SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International has sold the telenovela India: A Love Story to 90 percent of the Americas, including Canada and Argentina.

Channels in territories such as Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, apart from Canada and the U.S., have already signed up to include the production as part of their grid in 2010. “This quick and large sale reaffirms the quality of our product and the marketing effort that we are making since NATPE 2009. We hope to continue the great success of this product in other continents,” commented Raphael Corrêa Netto, the head of sales at Globo TV International.

The telenovela premiered in Romania (Acasa) on January 11 and has also been sold to other countries in Europe such as Russia (Domashiny) and Portugal (SIC). During the first quarter, the telenovela is due to premiere in Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicuragua, Bolivia, Canada and Porto Rico. Also Telefutura in the U.S. will launch India: A Love Story—winner of this year’s International Emmy Award for best telenovela—later this year.
