Globo Continues Strong Sales for The Favorite

SÃO PAULO: Globo TV International’s telenovela The Favorite has been sold in 70 percent of countries across Latin America, including Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

The production is to further launch in the second semester in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras. In Brazil, The Favorite was broadcast by TV Globo in prime time with an average market share of more than 60 percent.  

The Favorite tells of the rivalry between Flora and Donatela, old partners in a country-music duo. After spending 18 years in prison for the murder of Donatela’s husband, Flora leaves prison wanting to prove her innocence, accusing her ex-partner of committing the crime. The plot thickens in that Flora’s daughter was raised by her rival.
